We're glad you're interested in learning more about preschool scholarships! There is a lot of information below for download, but in a nutshell, scholarships are available for 3- and 4-year-old children in Black Hawk County attending an approved preschool. Scholarships are up to $300 per month.
Families must be at 200% of poverty or below and have a child that will turn 3- or 4-years-old by September 15, 2021. Families who qualify for Head Start must attend Head Start unless they are full. You cannot receive a scholarship if you already enrolled for voluntary preschool. Wondering if your income qualifies? Email us at cedarvalleyspromise@gmail.com or call us at 319-239-2451.
Return the completed application and income verification documents by email to cedarvalleyspromise@gmail.com or by mail to 4231 Cedar Ridge Circle, Hazel Green WI 53811. Applications will be processed in the order received and you will be notified by letter of approval or denial.
All programs that charge a tuition fee in Black Hawk County are eligible to participate. Programs will be required to participate in Iowa's Quality Rating System if they aren't already.
Different programs have different dates that you can enroll. If you are approved for a scholarship, both the parent and the preschool you've chosen will be notified. Parents are responsible for any tuition amount over $300 per month as well as any other required fees including registration fee, field trip fee, snacks or meals and book fees.
This is a new process for Cedar Valley's Promise this year, so please reach out if you have questions.
